UFC 53. Jordan vs. Buentello
Alright we're live. Mike Goldberg, who is the play-by-play guy for the Minnesota Wild when there's actually hockey, and Joe Rogan, yep, the guy from Fear Factor, are our announcers from Atlantic City.
Kevin Jordan and Paul Buentello is our opener. Heavyweights. Rogan is making fun of Jordan's entrance music.
Jordan's nickname is "The Shaman." Buentello, "The Headhunter."
Yes! Big John McCarthy is the ref. Big John lays down the law. He's been around since he inception of UFC. Dude's like 6-foot-8 and is the former martial arts/self-defense instructor for the LAPD. You don't mess with him. He usually does the main events.
Buentello comes out swinging, leaves himself open, and Jordan hits him hard. All standup early on. Buentello floors Jordan with a nasty hook and mounts him, but Jordan gets back up. Jordan's up but bleeding and wobbly. Lot of wild punching going on here. Buentelllo hits him with a knee. Buentello keeps connecting but seems to be gassing.
Jordan goes for a single leg, can't get him, Buentello lands on top of him and cinches in a guillotine choke with one arm, Jordan taps about four mintues into the fight.
Intesting fight. All punching, no technique, both guys were gassed at the end.
