YES
*So last Friday, DirecTV sent us the YES feed of the Red Sox-Yankees game. Some observations: 1. It is pretty clear that The Boss must have sent down official word that last year's playoffs were never to be mentioned, under any circumstances. Just a big whitewash of the whole thing. The only time they brought up the postseason (and admittedly I was in and out of the room a bunch of times, so I might have missed something) was when they used it as an excuse to show Aaron Boone's home run from 2003. 2. Have you seen the Yankees' slogan for this season? Something like: "Looking back. Looking forward." In other words "Let's pretend last year never happened." All that said, I have to say that out of the three announcing crews I heard over the weekend (with Fox and Tim McYankee on Saturday and ESPN on Sunday), the YES team was by far the most insightful. Possibly because they weren't blabbling about the Yankees' 26 world titles nonstop.
*I'm thinking of doing a running diary of the UFC pay-per-view on Saturday. Depends on whether I don't come up with any better plans for Saturday night. It isn't exactly their biggest name show, with Andrei Arlovski vs. Justin Eilers for the interim heavyweight title and Evan Tanner defending the middleweight belt against Rich Franklin.
*Does anyone know why Sportsjournalists.com seems to have disappeared again?
