Mariners radio
A few random thoughts:
*Apparently, being a former Red Sox backup catcher is a prerequisite for getting a color commentator job on the Seattle Mariners radio network. The regular color guy is Dave Valle, who you might recall appeared in 30 games for the Sox in 1994. Then last weekend, Valle was off for some reason or another as the Mariners faced the D-Rays, and his replacement? John Marzano. Fill in your own punch line here: "Who's next, (Gary Allenson/Rick Cerone/Scott Hatteberg/Doug Mirabelli/etc.)???
*My roommate is a really good guy. He's actually the first non-psychotic and/or neurotic roommate I've had in two years. But he has this bizarre passive/aggressive hippie friend who stays over every once in awhile, who doesn't make eye contact with you when he speaks. The first time hippie boy visited, he brought a giant jar of peanut butter with him. This time, he has a Costo-sized vat of applesauce in our fridge. I want to hide it, just to see how he'd react.
*About a few of the links on the left-hand side of the screen: Scott Tribble is a friend of mine who is a freelance Web designer who has been a big help in getting this blog up and running. He's also the foremost authority on girls' high school swimming in Eastern Mass.; Dan Sally is one funny mofo. He's an up-and-coming comedian in Boston, has opened for Kevin Nealon, and hosts at the Comedy Connection. We went to high school together and know enough about each other's pasts to seriously blackmail each other; and Neptune is a pretty rockin' indy band in Boston that you should check out some time.
