A frequent Dave's World correspondent writes:
Yes, Dave, Lobstermania has gripped the Hub. In fact, I saw one person with a David Ortiz jersey and the "Ortiz" was scratched out and he wrote "James Blake" over it. Said sports fan was also sporting lobster-red skin, so it obviously has nothing to do with the sponsorship issues.
After all, why would they want to cover the C's summer league team or write something about the Cannons when they can send someone to Harvard, where there's no A/C, to cover team tennis with players who "was ranked as high as 123rd" as one players' bio reads?
Scotty writes: My favorite All-Star memory came when the NL managers agreed to let the aging Cal Ripken hit off a tee in his final few All-Star appearances.
Can't deny you that one. The only way the NL could have grooved one to him any more flagrantly in the 2001 game would have been if they trotted out John Wasdin for an appearance. Scotty's definitely in the lead here, but the contest remains open.
