More Stuff
I've been in a "random stuff" kind of mood this week. Here's more:
*Mark Blaudschun of the Boston Globe, always a favorite read in Dave's World, is writing weekly national college football columns for AOL in a Sports Xchange production. Here's a link to his first column.
*Watched some of the extras from the Red Sox DVD box set last night. Just when you thought you couldn't bleed any more material out of the subject matter, they delivered more. For example, they took Kevin Millar's rant before Game 4 ("All I'm saying is, don't let us win tonight,") and interspersed clips of everything he predicted actually happening. Like "Don't let us win tonight," then they show David Ortiz's home run. "Then tomorrow night we have Petey," and they show a clip of Pedro Martinez knocking down Hideki Matsui, and so on. Similarly, the ALCS championship celebration scenes are interspersed with shots of individual Yankees taking sullen strolls out of the clubhouse and presumably towards their cars afterwards. I won't give it all away, but there was a lot more new material in there than I was expecting.
*Some housekeeping here: Ultimate Fighting Championship 54 is Saturday night. I did a running dairy of UFC 53, but I'm leaning against it this time. Mainly because it is a Saturday in August in Seattle and I have this silly notion in my head I should actually get out of the house before the sun disappears for the next nine months. But I could change my mind at the last minute. Sunday, we have the next installment of Dispatches from Iraq. Matt is going to address a subject that is always on the mind of most soldiers, but isn't often discussed. Gotta leave it at that for now. And, Dave's World Football Thursday will debut two weeks from today on Sept. 1, in time for the opening night of college football season.
