Stuff
So I have quite a few new visitors today. The folks over at Stryker News posted the link to my friend Matt's Dispatches from Iraq entry from Sunday, and in good part because of that link, more people have visited the site today than any day in the month since Dave's World was launched.
I've gotten a steady stream of email today, here's a representative sample:
Thank you for this posting. My son is with a stryker brigade in Mosul and anything that tells me about his "normal" days is a help in staying a little closer to him.
Dave, great message from Matt. My son is on the Stryker Brigade and I’m not sure if I can say whether I have picked a side of the fence. I do know that I support our troops ... and pray that they all will come home safe.
If you're checking this out for the first time, welcome. There's a little bit of everything here, from the serious to the ridiculous. Lots of baseball, lots of talk about Boston (my home town) and the Northwest (where I live), and lots of me simply popping off and making an idiot of myself, which is the one thing I do with distinction. The plan here is to have Matt post every other weekend (with a week from Sunday being the next edition). I've been building this site through grassroots word of mouth, so if you like what you see, please send along a link to the site to a friend or two. Thanks!
