Well, then ...
So I go out to enjoy a rare sunny afternoon in Seattle (and get tickets to Mariners-Mets tomorrow night, where Pedro Martinez will likely run his record against Seattle to 321-0, or something like that)(oh and Gyro World on Broadway has the best gyros in Seattle. But I digress), and come home to five emails, mostly complimentary, about the site. A buddy of mine had posted a link to the site on the sportsjournalists.com message board. I've had a couple potshots taken against me, which is standard for the 'net. I thought about responding on the site, but that's a big-time no-win situation. I do have email here and they're welcome to drop me a line and identify themselves. They'd be better served stepping outside and getting some fresh air, though.
Anyway, for anyone else visiting here for the first time through that link, here's the deal: I started this site because it makes it easier to keep in touch with friends back on the other coast rather than send out a billion emails a day; because I'm trying to teach myself HTML and Web design skills as I go; and want to have some fun and try some new things you can't really do in the framework of a traditional newspaper. I'm not under any delusion I am re-inventing the wheel here. If you like what you read, great! C'mon back some time, and feel free to drop me a line.
