U.S. Open
*Allow me to shamelessly name-drop a friend's work: My fellow former Globe Weeklies High School Features Superstar, Andy Nesbitt, has an on-the-money piece up on Foxsports.com about the U.S. Open. Nesbitt's not known for keeping his opinion to himself and this is no exception.
*Thanks to Bruce Allen at the Boston Sports Media Watch for the plug today. If you're a new visitor to the site, thanks for dropping by. If you like what you read, send your friends a link, because I'd like this site to catch on aside from just my family and friends.
*I'd comment on tonight's Sox game, but there's a slight breeze going, so my satellite signal keeps going on and off. I *think* Renteria just doubled. Not sure. As for last night, is David Wells "officially a Red Sock" now? Because, you know, with the Yankees, there's always that moment when the New York media officially proclaims "This Was The Night (Roger Clemens/Tino Martinez/Ed Whitson/Randy Choate/etc.) Became A Yankee," as though they are now formally accepted as Knights of the Round Table or something.
