30 wins?
*If Randy Johnson (5-5, 4.02) beats the Cardinals today (and he's 1-3 in his past four starts), he'll only need 24 more wins to reach John Kruk's screaming preseason prediction of 30 victories. By my rough math, he has about 20 starts left. I guess he's coming out of the pen in between starts to make up the difference.
*So who's been the most effective pitcher in interleague play since they started this whole deal? Pedro? Johnson? Schilling? How about Joel Pineiro? He has 15 quality starts in 16 interleague matches and a 2.03 interleague ERA, which is the best for any pitcher with at least 10 interleague starts (Info courtesy Seattle P-I). Now if he could only master A.L. competition ...
