*My fellow Former Globe High School Features Superstar, Andy Nesbitt, chimed in a bit late on this week's Dave's World contest, in which we asked readers what was their favorite sports movie of all-time, and why. The following is transcribed from IM, perhaps with screen names changed:
FGHSFSAndy: Damnit! I wanted to enter the contest this week.
FGSHFSDave: OK, well, go ahead and enter anyway. If it's good enough, maybe I'll revoke my prize. It's my contest.
FGHSFSAndy: Ladybugs. Who ever knew the slutty one from the tv show 227 could be such a good assistant soccer coach? Great movie.
I have to admit I didn't see Ladybugs, and I forgot 227 even existed. But the movie also starred Rodney Dangerfield, so it must have been some five-star viewing.
*You know what? I've had a little flight of either inspiration or madness here. I'm going to create a new IM screen name: DavesworldDave. As I write this, it is 12:38 Pacific, 3:38 Eastern. I'm going to pop online on that name around 2 pm Pacific/5 Eastern. If you're online and reading this, drop me a line.
*So, super-astute Dave's World readers may have noticed that Thursday Baseball Blatherings have disappeared. Or maybe not. Quite frankly, when I look at my page view stats, TBB consistently gets the fewest page views of any regular Dave's World content. (Monday: Monday Musings; Tuesday: Weekly Contest; Friday: Link to Boston Sports Review column; Sunday: regular guest columnist. And Saturday ramblings about Scooter if I happen to be sitting around watching baseball).
Now, it is possible that page views go down on Thursdays because it is the last day people actually get any work done before the weekend. It is also possible that my baseball stuff sucks. But if by some chance anyone here actually enjoyed my unloved little stepchild of a column, sort of like how Family Guy got canned and brought back (OK, maybe not), drop me a line and let me know, and maybe it will return.
